Transportation Policy for LYO Events Off Church GroundsThis policy is in effect for those events when LYO members meet in the church parking lot and pool rides to travel to an off-site location. A. If a child is less than 57 inches tall or weighs 42 pounds or less, he/she will need a special seat for the car whether it may be a child seat or a booster seat. This seat will be provided by the parents. B. Children over 57 inches tall or over 42 pounds, and who are also the age of 12 or under, must be belted and in the back seat of the vehicle in which they are riding. C. An adult, age 21 or older, must drive all vehicles regardless of the age of the passengers. D. Those students who are licensed drivers may drive themselves to activities off church grounds provided they are the lone occupant in their car. Exception to this is if they are transporting siblings with parental approval. Written parental permission with a list of named siblings must be submitted in this instance (See 2nd half of form above.)
