***Palani Permeswaran earned First Place in the National History Day competition.  The event was held at the University of Maryland.  Congratulations, Palani for being first in the nation in the High School competition!  We are proud of you.

***Dave Ladenthin was awarded the most prestigious scouting award, The Silver Beaver Award.  The ceremony was held in Omaha and was from the Boy Scouts of America, Mid America Council.  It was part of the Boy Scouts 100th anniversary.  Dave has worked with Boy Scouts for 16 years.

***Thoughts for Daily Living has a new recording machine.

***Emily Ellefson was named as captain of the Sioux City West Early Bird Tournament high school softball team.  She will be a sophomore at Le Mars Community High School this fall.

***Jessica Roder is a Kiwanis Scholarship recipient.  She is a graduate of Le Mars Community High School.

***Matthew Albert was a Plymouth County 4-H member who attended a week-long Citizen Focus experience in Washington, D.C.
