Opening Devotion - Pastor Greg lead a 10 minute devotion.
January Minutes - January minutes were read and approved.
Food and Fun on the Farm - We went to the Albert's Farm for food, games and watching football on January 8th at noon. We promoted through bulletin, newsletter, flyers in Sunday School, Catechism and e-mails. Food was supplied by many different families. Approximately 20 kids attended and hung out most of the afternoon and had a good time.
Annual Meeting Soup Lunch - We asked Charlotte Lubben to supply a cooker full of Chicken/Rice soup. We paid Charlotte for the ingredients. The Lang's supplied another cooker full of Vegetable Soup. Rand's donated 20-21 lbs of hamburger and 3 families made tavern from this. We asked for 12 dozen buns and 12 dozen desserts. (ex: cookies, cake or bars) The group going to New Orleans supplied most of the food, crackers and beverages and we had a number of Catechism youth and High School Sunday School participants that also supplied food. These youth also helped set up during the 10:45 am service, serve and clean up. We served approximately 125 people. All was cleaned up by 1:00 pm in time for the Annual Meeting. Thrivent matched $500. Our donations were around $590.
5th Quarter - January 27th we held a basketball 5th quarter. Pastor Greg, Kim, Dawn and Clara Renken chaperoned. We served 8 pizzas, chips, bars, water and pop. We advertised through bulletin, newsletter, flyers at Sunday School, Catechism and e-mails. We played spoons for a time and then the kids played hide-n-seek. There were 30 kids in attendance.
Recharge - This event was held on February 4 from 4 - 11 pm. We used the same format as in the past. Allyn reserved a room for Dan Antoine at the Living Center House. Pastor Greg, June Mikkelson, Stacy Hoffman and Kim Lang helped at the event. We advertised in bulletin, newsletter, e-mails, flyers at Sunday School and Catechism. We had 11 kids at the early session and 7 kids at the later session. With that many kids attending, we still felt it was a worth while event. We noted that some kids signed up and did not make it there and kids that did not sign up attended, so you never know how many will be attending. We discussed possibly asking Dan if he could do a morning session with the Sunday School kids during the Sunday School hour next year. We will also look into having someone come from the camp to run a 5th quarter in the future.
New Business
Easter Breakfast - We will use the same format for the Easter Breakfast as in the past, serving Eggs and Ham, rolls, muffins and fruit. Rich Ellefson has been contacted and will deliver liquid eggs the week before Easter. We will finalize details at a later date.
Easter/Holy Week Event - The movie "Jesus Christ, Superstar" was shown on Good Friday for the 7th thru 12th grades. We did not have a great attendance and kids have a hard time actually watching the show without visiting and goofing. We discussed if we should show another movie and spice it up a bit, with costuming and make the movie more interactive. Other ideas were to have the kids run a "flash mob", "texting bomb", Holy Week Skit, Easter Egg hunt. Dawn will speak to Kay Michaelson to mention this to the High School class and see if they would want to help with any of these ideas or if they have other ideas.
Graduates Gifts - Kim brought an idea to the team for a gift for the graduates. The team liked the idea. We will pursue the idea after checking on another possibility for personalizing the gifts.
Chair Person Replacement - Allyn Anderson will be retiring from the team and we need to try to get some new members on the team. We will look at Sunday School Attendance lists to see which families are participating and try to contact them, to see if they would be interested in joining the Youth Team.
We closed with the Lord's Prayer.
Next meeting will be Monday, March 5 at 5:30 pm.

Most kids left by 11:30 while some stayed to just hang out and visit.

Catechism kids helped. They had an obstacle course set up and they painted pumpkins. The 9th graders suggested having an event like this for Middle School & High School kids.
Lutheran Lakeside Bible Camps - Pastor Greg rented a van to transport 6 kids. Dayton shared they played games, listened to a speaker and a musician, and participated in small group sessions.
