1. We discussed the future of the Inreach Committee. Shall we seek to combine with the Outreach Committee? Shall we disband? Shall we try to get more members?

2. Could we arrange to have coffee time in the lobby after worship during the summer? Would this encourage people to stay after worship and converse?

3. We discussed the idea that we may need more of a sense of mission in order to attract more people.

Members Present: Pastor Greg Gabriel, Gerry Ihrke, Kathy Stelzer

After a lengthy "Brainstorming" session, a Review of the Mission Statement "To help members know and support each other" and a lively discussion period the following actions were decided upon.

1) Copies of the Current Directory and a list of members who HAVE communed since Easter will be printed up for each member of the committee. The team will compare the lists to determine who has not communed recently. 

2) The Shepherding Program will be restarted beginning with the current family that is interested in joining St John's.  Pastor Greg will check with the couple and find out if they would be willing to be paired with a Sponsor Couple their own age.  He will ask also if they know anyone from the church already that they would like to have as their sponsor couple.

3) As soon as the Current Directory is made available to Kathy and Gerry, they will begin calling all members whose e-mail addresses are not listed to see if they have an e-mail address and would be interested in receiving the Newsletter notice each month.

4) The team will begin investigating the possibility of having a Facebook "Fan Page" for St. John's.  They will look at Churches that have a "Fan Page" and see how they use it.  They will also look on the ELCA website and look for advice in this area.

5) Pastor Greg pointed out that it has been several years since the last directory was printed and we should consider printing a new one next year.  This was noted and tabled.

6) Every Member Visit was discussed and tabled till next Fall.

7) Kathy mentioned that the Chamber puts out a welcome packet and we should consider putting a card in the packet with information about St. John's  -  this was tabled for now but Kathy will bring it up again with more information.

8) A "Visitor" Gift was brought up by Kathy Stelzer. Churches she has visited have had a table of brochures and Gift items for visitors including mugs, pens, etc.  If anyone is visiting other churches please notice what others do for visitors...this might be a budget item for next year.
